Reviews
“A loud, high energy show for little ones with real poignancy
and power in the quieter moments of this beautiful story.”
“Our hearts were full to bursting...The Littlest Yak
showcased the very best of theatrical magic.”
"Just so pure and lovely. Truly a delightful show.
My daughter keeps asking to “go back to yaks” over and over again!"
Development
The Littlest Yak was R&Ded at Folkestone Quarterhouse and Marlowe Theatre with support from ACE. This development period included training opportunities for young theatre makers in Folkestone and Canterbury who received work experience, talks and mentorship.
Pilot
The show was piloted in libraries in Hampshire, in collaboration with The Spring, before a run at the Marlowe Theatre and a mini tour of London venues including Polka Theatre, Artsdepot and Half Moon.
Spring 2025
The sell-out run at the Marlowe, Polka, and artdepot alongside 4 nominations at the Off West End Awards drives strong interest in the show. With ACE support, LAStheatre undertakes a mid-scale tour to venues including Chichester Festival Theatre, Watford Palace, Corn Exchange Newbury, Malvern Theatres and Queens Theatre Hornchurch. The tour is a real success and establishes a model for LAStheatre of using performances at larger venues to help subsidise performances in schools and rural venues.
Partnership with Applause (NPO)
With ACE support LAStheatre collaborated with Applause (NPO) to tour The Littlest Yak to 5 Medway libraries and host a sell-out performance of the show at Southborough Civic Centre.

Partnership with A New Direction (NPO)
With ACE support LAStheatre were able to take part in A New Direction’s Primary Arts In-School Touring Programme in Spring 2025. This involved taking The Littlest Yak show and associated workshops into 10 London schools. We also hosted a twilight CPD exploring how to use theatre exercises to playfully pursue learning outcomes. The activity received excellent feedback, and LAStheatre have been asked to return to the programme in 2026.

Our continued commitment to Thanet and East Kent
With ACE support we have been able to continue our commitment to Schools and families in East Kent. In Sping '25 we took the show to 5 Kent Schools and hosted a free performance at our local library - Clifftonville Library. Feedback included:
“We are so grateful for such high-quality creative activity on offer. Its really exciting to introduce the children to theatre in a setting that is so familiar.”
“It’s a wonderful production, amazing to see so many coming together and enjoying the arts! We need more of this please!”
Winter 2025 & Spring 2026
This application, will enable us to bring The Littlest Yak to 15,000 people across the UK. With a key focus on building our network on mid-scale venues and a strategic partnership with Lakeside Arts to bring the show and associated workshops to over 6,000 people in Nottingham. We hope to continue strategic partnerships with Applause and A New Direction in 2026. With Applause we will focus on taking The Littlest Yak into rural community spaces across Kent, Essex and Sussex. The partnership with A New Direction aims to repeat the success of 2025 in London Schools. We will continue our work in East Kent providing 5 schools with the opportunity to have in-school performances with bursaries of up to 100%.
